Before the Nose Plastic Surgery

Plastic surgeons nose surgery would normally want to discuss a lot of things with you during the initial consultation. Your surgeon will be looking into your medical history and he will be doing a physical examination of you himself. He would also be asking you about your expectations of the results and he will tell you about what the risks and benefits of the surgery as well. Aside from these, he will also be asking you go through a number of medical tests that will help determine if you have certain health problems that may contradict in any way with your nose job procedure. He will also be giving you instructions on what to do before the date of the surgery.

What to Expect During the Surgery

The normal process that plastic surgeons nose surgery follow during the operation includes the administering of a local or a general anesthetic, depending on the complexity of the surgical procedure. While a nose job is usually done on an outpatient basis in a surgery center or in your surgeon’s clinic, it can also be done in a hospital where a short confinement can be called for. However, this is only done for complex nose jobs that could take longer than the usual two hours for the outpatient procedure.

After Rhinoplasty Surgery

Most plastic surgeons nose surgery will allow you to go home several hours after the procedure, after staying in the recovery room. However, you will not be allowed to go home by yourself, so you would need to arrange for somebody to drive you home beforehand. Although you might feel okay two days after your surgery, you can only go back to doing normal and strenuous activities within two or three weeks after the procedure. Your surgeon will be giving you posy-operative instructions to follow so that your recovery will be as painless, as comfortable, and as short as possible.
