Lip Enhancement Procedures
The procedure followed for lip enhancement is typically the same regardless of the type of the implant used but results may vary.
- Local anesthetic is administered.
- The doctor makes tiny incisions in the inside part of the mouth, an incision on the upper line of the lip or uses an injection.
- The synthetic or natural biocompatible material is implanted or injected through or into the lips.
- One injection is typically sufficient to achieve the desired result.
- The surgeon makes sure the material is placed properly within the patient’s lips.
- The patient goes home after the procedure on the same day.
Lip Enhancement Recovery Time
- Recovery time after lip enhancement is typically short with some procedures being performed on an outpatient basis.
- Depending on the technique used, recovery can take as long as two weeks after the procedure.
- For patients who have undergone lip implants or grafting, recovery may take as long as two weeks.
- Patients may require rest from work for a minimum of three days.
- Exercise may be restricted a few days to a few weeks after surgery.
